Confirmation of Services
Autumn’s Bed & Biscuit Pet Sitting Services (“Sitter”) agrees to provide services as outlined in this agreement in a reliable and trustworthy manner. In consideration of these services, the Client agrees to waive and relinquish any and all claims against the Sitter, except in cases of deliberate negligence.
Scheduling and Visit Times
Visit times are approximate and may vary based on the needs of all pets under care. The Sitter will use best judgment in caring for pets and property. In the event of emergencies, inclement weather, or natural disasters, the Sitter shall be held harmless for any resulting delays or changes in service.
Inclement Weather
In the event of severe weather (including storms or hurricanes), the Sitter will prioritize the safety of pets, property, and personal well-being.
Procedures may include:
Attempting scheduled visits when safely possible
Adjusting or delaying visits due to conditions
Contacting your designated emergency contact if access is not possible
Notifying the Client when contingency procedures are activated
The Client acknowledges that service may be interrupted or modified due to unsafe conditions.
Pet Emergencies
If a pet becomes ill or injured while in care, the Sitter is authorized to seek veterinary treatment at the Client’s expense within any pre-approved financial limits. If the Client’s primary veterinarian is unavailable, the Sitter may transport the pet to an emergency veterinary clinic.
The Client is responsible for ensuring a valid payment method is on file with their veterinarian or emergency clinic prior to services. Autumn’s Bed & Biscuit will not advance funds for veterinary care under any circumstances.
Waiver of Liability
The Client releases the Sitter from liability for transportation, treatment, or expenses arising from emergencies or conditions deemed necessary by the Sitter.
Emergency Contact
The Client must provide a nearby emergency contact with access to the home. This individual should be able to respond quickly in case of severe weather or access issues. If no contact is provided, services may be delayed until conditions are safe.
Medications and Vaccinations
The Sitter will administer medications as directed but cannot guarantee outcomes or be held responsible for complications. All pets must be current on vaccinations and free of contagious illness.
The Client assumes responsibility for any injury or costs resulting from unvaccinated or contagious animals.
Access to Home by Others
If anyone other than the Sitter has access to the home during service dates, the Client must notify the Sitter in advance. The Sitter is not responsible for any loss or damage caused by third parties.
Substitution of Care Provider
In the event of illness or emergency, the Sitter may arrange for a qualified substitute. The Client will be notified if this occurs.
Fences and Outdoor Access
Fencing does not guarantee containment. The Sitter is not responsible for pets that escape from fenced areas of any kind.
Dog Doors and Off-Leash Access
The Sitter is not liable for injury, loss, or escape of pets given off-leash access or use of doggy doors.
Pet Clean-Up
The Sitter will make reasonable efforts to clean pet accidents and dispose of waste. The Client must provide necessary cleaning supplies. The Sitter is not responsible for permanent stains or damage.
Leashes and Harnesses
All dogs must be walked using a properly fitted harness and non-retractable leash provided by the Client. Retractable leashes will not be used under any circumstances.
Unforeseen Purchases
Any emergency supplies (food, litter, etc.) will only be purchased after funds are provided by the Client via Venmo or Zelle. A $20 trip fee may apply if local purchase is required.
Animal Behavior
The Client acknowledges that animal behavior is unpredictable. The Sitter is not responsible for injury, escape, destruction of property, or death caused by natural pet behavior. The Client assumes responsibility for any damage or injury caused by their pets to third parties.
Keys and Home Access
The Client must provide a working key or secure lockbox access. If locksmith services are required due to faulty access, all costs will be the Client’s responsibility. A lockbox may be provided for a $25 fee.
Privacy Policy
All Client information is kept strictly confidential. Clients are encouraged to notify a neighbor of their absence.
Household Emergencies
Clients should provide contact information for maintenance services (plumbing, HVAC, etc.) in case of emergency.
Indemnification
The Client agrees to hold the Sitter harmless for any claims arising from damage or injury caused by their pet(s) or property conditions during the service period.
Reservations and Deposits
A deposit is required to secure all bookings. Holiday and peak season rates may apply.
A non-refundable 20% deposit is required to confirm reservations.
Payments
The remaining balance is due on the first day of service. Payments must be made in advance or upon arrival depending on method (cash, Zelle, or Venmo). Services may be declined if payment terms are not met.
Return Notification
The Client must notify the Sitter upon returning home. If no communication is received within 12 hours of the final visit, an additional check-in may be performed at the Client’s expense.
Abandonment
If your pet is staying in my home: I understand that any pet not picked up within 10 days of expected return (without contact for extended arrangements and payment) will be considered abandoned and can be turned over to Animal Control per Florida Statute 705.19.
Agreement
By booking services, the Client acknowledges and agrees to all policies outlined above.
